This Personalised Map Timber Artwork is created using beautifully detailed Ordnance Survey map data printed onto a square of sustainable sourced birch ply wood. The map can be centered on any location in England, Scotland and Wales. You could choose the location of a holiday, honeymoon or wedding, or where you live. It is a perfect present to remember a special place. A very thoughtful and truly unique gift. The print technique I use works best with black and white images, giving the artwork a gorgeous timeless look. All the wood I use is from sustainable sources - wood grain shows through the printed image to enhance the beauty of the map. The natural variations of colour and grain add to the character of the handmade nature of the item, making each map a truly unique 'one off'. You can choose to have the wood colour left as it is or to be given a light whitewash of paint before printing. The whitewash gives the finished article a brighter apperarance as there is more contrast beween the background and the map print. This item is small enough to stand on a shelf or mantelpiece but can also be hung on the wall. It is supplied with a concealed hanger for easy hanging from a picture pin or nail. I also offer this item framed in a simple white or black wood profile. You may prefer this as it gives the artwork a more contemporary style. Simply select Framing via the options menu when placing your order. Once you have decided on a location for your map simply enter the details in the Location box to place the order. Each map varies but as a general rule the maps cover an area of 1.5 miles x 1.5 miles. Once I have accepted your order, if you have opted to see a preview, I will send a jpeg of your map for your approval via your order on NotOnTheHighStreet. To view your jpg please log into your account on the notonthehighstreet.com website, go to the 'my orders' section and then click the 'contact the seller' button on the relevant order. The jpg will appear at the top of the discussion page as a link which will open when you click on it.
